Dipl.-Ing. Richard John〔In German an engineer's degree is called ''Diplom-Ingenieur'' (abbreviated ''Dipl.-Ing.'')〕 (21 June 1896 – 19 February 1965) was a highly decorated Generalleutnant in the Wehrmacht during World War II who commanded several divisions. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership.
